ANTHONY MONTES Click to view more work Anthony Montes is a Cuban American whose fascination with Latino popular culture is reflected in his paintings. In particular, Montes portrays outstanding Cuban musicians who joined U.S. Jazz groups and Big Bands in mid-twentieth century. He states that his goal is to paint every major Latin American musicians of the last century. Montes’ vibrant paintings also pay homage to scenes of everyday life in Latino communities in the U.S. His work is shown regularly in Florida. Now living in Saratoga County, Montes received a bachelor’s degree in graphic design at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
