George Hofmann is an abstract painter who resides in the Capital District of New York. He has shown extensively in New York City, and elsewhere, and his work is in the permanent collections of the Boston Public Library, Albany Institute of History and Art, Arco Corporation, 3M Corporation, Susquehanna University, and the Virginia Museum in Norfolk.. For many years Hofmann was a professor of painting at Hunter College, City University of New York. He served as director of the Francis J. Greenburger Foundation and Triangle Workshop. Hofmann studied at Akademie der Bildenden Kuenste, in Nuremberg, Germany, and at the Instituto Allende in San Miguel Allende in Mexico.
